1) CCOM has an SMP, also. You might compare the two. They are not considered to be equivalent. An SMP has the virtue of being able to override mediocre undergrad performance if one demonstrates excellent academics.
2) A portion of a PharmD is often considered to be undergrad coursework. If that is true for your school, then those classes would be calculated together with your college grades to create your undergrad cGPA for application purposes. If you earn sterling grades, and the classes are marked as undergrad on your transcript, then the program may help you. Grad level grades are not considered by every school, so they are less likely to be helpful, though dismal performance can definitely hurt you.
The PharmD would be considered a nice EC. You would of course be obliged to create a very convincing Personal Statement for why you are jumping ship, so to speak.
Have you figured out the total debt load for the educational course you are contemplating?
