RC and PAT

Ok, so my DAT is coming up shortly in a few weeks and I have been struggling a bit with RC and PAT. I have been using Bootcamp for both PAT and RC and also CDP. CDP seems a bit easier, but so far I've only taken 5 tests with the highest being a 20. I've taken two DAT Bootcamp PAT tests and have gotten a 17 and 18 consecutively. Bootcamp seems really hard, but CDP is much easier. The RC section on Bootcamp is pretty tough and also because I'm not a fast reader. I've scored 17 and 19 on the RC reading consecutively.

For the people who have already taken the DAT how would you guys compare the Bootcamp/CDP RC/PAT sections to the actual DAT?

I used crack dat and by the last five tests I consistently scored 19-21. I did bootcamp afterwards but theirs were a lot harder and I got discouraged so I only did 3. I got 18 on all three of them. I decided to just do practice tests with TFE and angle ranking and I think that really helped me out. However, I got bootcamp like 5 days before my dat so I burnt out and eventually stopped caring about pat. I really believe that if I had access to bootcamp pat a month earlier I could have scored over 20 with it, easy.

On the actual dat I felt like I bombed it and I guessed on a ton of questions but ended up with a 19. Overall, I thought it was much much harder than crack dat and SLIGHTLY easier than bootcamp. Hope that helped 🙂

read my breakdown, I compared my experience of RC and PAT with bootcamp. I have the same worries as you before the test.

So I took the DAT in 2011 and then again this year. In 2011, for PAT I used CDP and I found that it matched very similar to my real 2011DAT as far as difficulty goes (my score was a 22). When I started studying this year, I lurked SDN to see what the general consensus was for PAT and I kept reading how the real DAT was harder than CDP and how bootcamp was on point. I decided to give bootcamp a shot and found it was much more difficult than CDP (which I thought was hard at first). Bootcamp PAT was similar to the real DAT that I took this year. I'd say keyholes were my weakest subject of PAT but the real DAT was a little easier. I scored a 20 on PAT. Actually I'd say every part of real DAT PAT was slightly easier, SLIGHTLY. Oh and I read about 'the rock' or 'boulder'. I definitely had that on mine in keyhole! grrr

For my RC studies this year, all I used was bootcamp. One of my passages on the real DAT was about the same subject as one of my bootcamp RC passages! I was very surprised. On the real DAT, there was more SnD, and less "first statement is true but 2nd is not"/"both statement and reason are correct but not related".
