I've been doing terrible on the rc section, avg 15 on CDR & 13 on Achiever. I'm not dumb because I have a high GPA....i'm just trying to figure out what strategy works best for me.
This is what I've used this far...read the passage in its entirety, wrote down few keywords, try to see what each paragraph is about & then attack the questions. I think time kills me: i get nervous at times when I see the clock.

Plz plz help! I understand 1 hr is enough time but i'm trying not to get too emotional because I know I need to find a strategy. I'm retaking the exam because of a 16 a couple yrs ago. I'm taking it in mid September.

How many CDR/Achiever tests have you completed? I'd suggest you stop taking the Achievers until you've completed the CDRs. As for a strategy, it really varies from person to person. Figure out what works best for you personally. I understand that timing is a huge issue, but I think you need to determine your strategy and build confidence in it. Instead of taking an entire 60 minute test, do just one timed 20 minute CDR passage at a time and try out those different strategies you mentioned. You'll still feel the clock's pressure, but I think it'll be less intimidating. Hopefully that'll allow you to calm down and figure out what works best for you. Once you're feeling more confident, try the full tests again.

Thank u for ur help! I actually did one of each. I didn't do the whole CDR or Achiever cuz I don't want to use it all up. But thanx, I will take it a passage at a time with diff strategies and see which one works best for me.
