I really do not know how to get my scores up for RC. I've read various methods from this forum and premed and have been unsuccessful in snd, skimming and every other method out there. I know they are all good methods so I am clearly doing something wrong and would like to figure out how to do it right. BTW I am from Canada so the DAT has 50 min overall so the aim is 15 min/passage.
1. SND - I attempted this method a couple of times and start panicing at 10 minutes b/c i have not even completed half the questions sometimes. I feel as if I am not actually reading the passages. Also have trouble remembering the questions and have trouble with finding the 'key terms' to focus on while skimming through the passage. Also not sure what skimming really is... I know it may be something of second nature to many of you but I am either spending too much time on the passage or going through it too fast that I miss all the important points. I haven't been able to reach the medium.
2. Road map - then attack - I've used this method and have found that it takes me 5 min to get through the passage while i put a word or 2 beside each paragraph. As a result I only have 10 min for the questions and never complete the questions in time.
Also have access IQ publications RC, Hyperlearning Princeton Review, Kaplan, and was wondering which best to use as resources for RC and if the ones I am using now are accurate to the DAT. Any help would be appreciated, and thanks for reading.
also was wondering if any1 would be able to TUTOR me for reading comprehension. (Toronto, Canada)
