Hi all,

On an average passage (on the RC section) there are 17 questions. How many correct answers (out of 17) would result in a score of 20 or higher?

Thanks for all the responses.

There are actually 50 questions on the RC section. The ADA booklet only gives you a sample. There are 3 passages on the real test.

here's a thread with conversion chart for scoring 20+.

one more question,

What is the best stratagy in approching the RC section. Should I read the passage and then answer the question or should I try to answer the questions without reading the passage (ie. look for the answers in the passage w/o reading it)

I think it reall depends on what you are most comfortable with. Some people like to read the passage first, some people jump straight to the questions.

When I took the DAT, I had skimmed the passage and wrote down a note or keyword for each paragraph. So, when I go to the questions, I had a better idea of where to start searching. I was able to finish the RC section with about 15 min left using this method.

I found the RC to be the easiest section on the DAT because all the answers are pretty much right in front of you. You just have to find it.
