This is my WORST section. I absolutely suck at reading. Even on the SATs, it was my lowest scoring section.

I don't know what to do! I tried different strategies.

I saw one on YouTube, that said to write out the questions, not word for word, but enough to understand. And then skim the passage and look for the answers. I guess it would be sort of a search and destroy?

I have never taken the DATs so will I be able to go through the questions and write them out and then go back to number one?

Also, HELP. What do I do for this section?!?

The way I did this section was to read the question presented, then begin reading the passage quickly and carefully and once I come across the answer, I answer it. Move onto the next question, continue reading and repeat. By the time I finished the passage, I remember enough of the passage to finish the rest of the questions.

I felt the most comfortable doing it this way.

^ I do that too. Only first I glimpse through the entire passage really quickly to get a 'map' of where everything is said in the text so it's easier to go back to.

What I did on my test was read the first paragraph twice to get a feel for the whole passage. Then start search and destroying.

How are the topics of the passages? I only got halfway through Bootcamp test 2 because the one of the articles was so boring/confusing that I couldn't pay attention for the life of me.

I hated the first passage of bootcamp's second test. It was so dense! I wouldn't be discouraged with your second bootcamp test score. I got a 16, which was my worst performance on any RC test on bootcamp, and did just fine on the real test. I think bootcamp tests 3-4 are better indicators on how well you will do. I got a 23 and 24 on those versions with a 41/50 and 43/50 correct respectively.

That's exactly the one I'm talking about!! It was awful. I got a headache and just didn't finished the test at all, but I got a 21 on the first test so hopefully I'll do fine on the real thing without any more practice.

I actually just finished the second bootcamp and scored a 17! Which was better than the first one which I ran out of time

I've been doing pretty bad on this section too and it is because I can't concentrate when the passage is super boring like history, politics, and etc...I'm practicing with CrackDAT and really suck at inference, authors tone, except qs. Etc.. What should I do?

You won't have that many questions like that. The real DAT is almost straight S&D with a little bit of these statements are true and I had no author's tone.

I heard it depends, but you can end up with super condensed passages with true/false qs and author opinion bs....I'm trying to expose myself with everything including Kaplan and Barron's.. Just notice that I really suck with physics, sociology, and political science passages because I don't have the background info (gen biol major) and interests in reading those things.
