Hey guys, list some of your strategies that made you successful on RC.

The greatest concerns that lots of people have when taking the RC dont really know what to do. (including me!)

I heard reading an article everyday is good...
but what about on the actual exam, should we need to search and destroy, read passage prior to Q's, or should we map?

Help some us avoid the RC problems:
-Acing the tone Q's,

-what should we prepare before the Frap or the piano

-Managing the 60 mins to complete 50 Q's in time

thanks...

I personally search and destroyed and it worked fine. Actually didn't have too many tone questions but I think they were the ones I missed so I'm not really in position to help anyone out with that... I've hated them since the SATs.. I personally don't like reading beforehand for DAT passages cause they can get somewhat tricky with the details.. And I never figured out the mapping method so I'll let someone else answer that...

I think for me trying to look up things I didn't know for bio in article format helped somewhat. Like I'd google things I didn't know and read wikipedia/explanation pages and maybe do a skim of 1 or 2 scientific articles concerning that topic.. I think that helped in bio and RC.

And for questions that you can't find right away, use the 'mark' function and come back later (if you're not sure whether you'll have enough time to come back, mark your best guess and move on). You'll get a better score answering 2 easy questions than 1 hard question right..

Honestly, get an AP Cliffs English Language and Composition book (or any book with alot of passages to read and answer Qs) practice the different methods on those n chose which works for u.

I did my test today and read every passage. I got pianoed. I just prefer to read. I did really well in this section btw. For some questions it was impossible to use search n destroy to get the answer. Not all the questions asked for something thats listed or stated in the passage.

im sure there are more strategies that work out there. i was hoping more people wouldn't mind sharing them...
