Hello All,

I am not sure what exactly to study for the reading comprehension section. Is there any specific practice passages online or anything that can better prepare me for this section? I fell like it would be one of the easier sections, but by the looks of it, this section can definitely bring down your score.

Any suggestions as to what to study would be much appreciated.

people just say read a lot, regardless of any source. I tried datqvault, I think it was a good practice. People say crack dat reading has too many tone questions and much harder than the actual DAT. Other than that, there are various full length tests as you probably know that have reading section.

looking forward to your review of qvault reading after you take ur test! did you buy any other sections of qvault too? good luck on may 30!

im using a mix of both crack and qvault for reading...crack does seem to have more inference type questions so i hope DAT isnt as hard..i got an 18 on the one i took.....qvault has more thats right from the text and maybe 2 inference type questions per passage so it may be too easy...i got a 24 and 22 on the two i took

I used achiever (first 2 tests) and that was it. I was scored a 16 on the first one, and an 18 on the second one. The real DAT I scored a 23 on though, which surprised me. Each passage was a pretty rough read, but after I started answering the questions they kind of explained to me what was going on.

My strategy was to read the first question, then start reading the passage. Once I found the answer to the question I would go on the next and then keep reading. It seems like I was able to answer about 5-6 questions for each passage this way before getting to the end. Then its a search and destroy like your life depends on it.

did search and destroy work for the majority of the questions? were the majority of answers pretty much directly in the text or were they kinda deceptive or tricky to test if you actually read and understood the whole passage?

Like I said, I did "search and destroy" after I read the passage once. So it's not really the search and destroy method. But yes my questions were pretty straight forward, only one or two questions asked about overall theme or concept of the passages. As first stated I would read a question and answer it as I came across it, by doing this for each section that eliminated about 15-20 questions I had to take time to find in the passage. I actually finished with about 5 minutes remaining, which was a first for me.
