I am re-applying to medical schools this year, and this time applying much much earlier to DO schools. Last year, I applied at the very end for all the schools, MD and DO, alike. Stupid mistake and no one to guide me and I didnt' really follow studentdoctor.net much.

ANYWAY

I am re-applying with not much diff except added hospital experience and some extra job experience.

My overall GPA is 3.3, science is 2.9. Best MCAT is 25. (Though I took the Aug '06 MCAT, too, but haven't told DO's to "wait" or anything. Should I?)

I'm mailing all my secondaries today to DO schools. Already sent in PCOM-PA almost two weeks ago b/c that's my number 1 choice.

What do you recommend I do? Should I call up people at this point? See if anyone will talk to me?

Any advice? (Anyone in the same boat?)

THANKS.

It's good that you applied early this year. I have similar stats - 3.5 overall GPA, 3.1 science, 24 MCAT - and applied to allopathic schools two years ago, received four interviews and no acceptances. I am much more into the DO route at this point for a number of reasons and am in the process of finishing my secondaries. Definitely have hope!
