I'm reapplying for dental schools this year and I need to know whether I have to fill out a whole new application for the dental schools through AADSAS. I can access my 2008 application, but when I go to fill out the 2009 application it says I have to start a new application. Does this mean I have to start all over again and send them new transcripts again, or can I just transfer my data from my 2008 application to my 2009 application?

if you look under the AADSAS information, it says that reapplicants have to send a whole new application in. So i'd just do everything from scratch

You need to do everything from scratch, but if you can access your old app or if you saved the information, you may be able to save some time by just copying and pasting information on ECs and whatnot.

It may help to "cut and paste" from last years app. if you have access to it but don't try an rationalize your way out of taking some time to update or improve your app. from last years. In other words, don't sell yourself short. Keep trying to find ways to improve your app. even though you may feel discouraged or too overwhelmed to do so. Good luck! :luck:

I just finished the excruciating process of refilling out my application for the third time. I do think that I saved a fair amount of time by cutting and pasting this time though. You might want to sign into the 2008 application with one browser and the 2009 with another (mozilla) to be able to log into both at the same time however. The most painstaking part of it all is the redundancy of questions. They should automatically set to a likely answer and just have the option to change the selection (eg. AADSAS grade versus school grade). That would save everyone a lot of hassle.

I actually emailed the ADEA to find out why they don't feel like saving the dental applicants thousands of hours by saving the single Mb of information that is included in each file (like the medical school application service does). They claim they don't have the resources. Apparently the ability to own just thirty new consumer hard drives is just too much for a national application service getting around $1000 from each of us.
