Hey guys,

I am currently in community college and planning to transfer in Spring 2014. I have had a few questions about majors and stuff of the like. I recently found out a school near me (SUNY Farmingdale) has a Bachelor's Degree Program in Dental Hygiene, and I was thinking that if I got a BA in Dental Hygiene it should be better than doing a Biology major. Also, I wanted to ask, if I were to major in something other than Bio, Chem, what would be a good alternative? Of course I would still take the higher level science courses Biology, Inorganic Chem, Org Chem, Physics. Just to be sure if I didn't do the common majors would I still be all right getting into dental school?

Thank you for your time people of SDN,
Farhad

Choose a major you're interested in. Dental schools accept people of various backgrounds, and I think they like to have diversity, so just do what you will enjoy. Ultimately it will come down to GPA, DAT, ECCs and interviews, not your particular major.
