How bad does it look to have to retake more than one class over again... say like maybe 5 or 6.

1 or 2 is fine. 5 or 6 is bad. No questions. If you are trying to raise C's to A's, your better doing a post-bac or a masters.

I agree. If your gpa is that bad, a post-bacc may be a good idea. Anyone should be able to do well the 2nd time in a class, so it doesn't say much to raise the grade anyway.
