Hi,

I was just wondering how it works...if I apply at the beginning of June with my old DAT scores (20/20/20) and then re-take the DAT by end of June how the scores would be processed - would my app be sent out before the new scores or does addsas wait for the new scores (I assume you mark on your application that you are re-taking the DAT?) If it is updated after being sent out, does this affect how "early" your app is and when schools will review it?

if anyone has experience with this it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

This was nearly my exact situation. I sent in my application to AADSAS the second day possible, and then had my DAT retake in the first week of July.

The application goes out to the schools as soon as everything else is ready, along with your initial DAT score. At this point schools can look over your application if they want to, but usually they are going to hold off and set you aside for a bit while they wait for your DAT retake scores (AADSAS lets them know you are registered for a retake...you can also email them to let them know if you'd like).

So yes, it will slow down your application a little bit. I could have been in the first batch, but instead was probably in the third or fourth...not really sure. Either way you are going to be plenty early to get into any school that would have wanted you anyway.

Bottom line-- definitely worth the few weeks if you can ensure a better DAT score.
