Hi everybody!

If you are given P2= P1 - 4v^2
where P is pressure and V is flow speed

I was wondering what does this statement mean in math terms? I would think it means that the pressure 2 is greater than pressure 1 by factor 4v^2

But apparently the answer is that the pressure 2 is less than pressure 1 by factor 4v^2. I know this is basic but can someone explain this

I think you can see that easier if you rearrange the equation to 4v^2 = P1 - P2. I guess I would just assume P2 is less than P1 otherwise you would get a negative number and negative flow speed.
