I have A LOT of downtime between now and July 1 when (hopefully) I will start my anesthesia intern year (good mix of surgery and medicine at my home program). I'm looking for a book I could finish between now and then as more of a casual read....basically a good read on how to take care of medical and surgical patients.

Thanks in advance.

if you are waiting for marino then pick up any "essentials of critical care" book and dig in. They are usually pretty thin and you can cover a chapter relatively fast (hour or two).
