I took my OAT today and my scores are

QR: 340
RC: 270
Bio: 350
Chem: 330
Orgo: 350
Phys: 310

Total science: 350
Academic Average: 330

I think I have pretty solid grades but my reading comp is really low. Do you think I can get into schools with these grades or do I have to retake the OAT? If I retake them, I will have to take a year off and I already took a year off. This is the first time taking my OAT and my first time applying. My GPA is about 3.2 I have a B.S in Bio and I have an A.A.S in ophthalmic dispensing. I am a NYS licensed optician with 5 years optical experience, National Contact Lens Examineer certified, and American Board Optician certified.

I think you'll be fine for entering class 2010.
You may not get your first choice schools, but you will get in somewhere.

Apply early.

I applied in October and I have already had an interview with PCO about a month ago. I just waited to take my OAT. ICO also said my grades were good and the committee would over look my file again for the second time when my OAT scores were in. Do you think its possible to get acceptance now with these scores for 2009? Have you been accepted for 2009 and if so what were your OAT scores and GPA if you don't mind saying?

The short answer- It depends on where you're applying to.

Otherwise, you have some average/below average stats, but great experience that trumps other applicants. Call the school you're interested in and ask them if you should retake it. If you had solid English grades in college, you probably won't have to. But some schools are pickier than others

Pco, ico, neco, nova, ferris and A in 2 english classes

PCO and ICO are lenient on OAT scores, and are especially understanding of the difficulty with the computerized RC sections.
(No need to have >300 on all sections)
The problem now would be how late it is in the application cycle.

But your TS score is great, so I don't think you have to retake it, but that's just my opinion.
Good luck with everything!

I think you should call the schools up and ask them personally. If you apply early then I think you will be fine! Some schools do expect all scores to be above 300. I think Nova is one of them so you might want to call Nova up and ask them. NECO also wants something above 300 so you might want to call them too.

The best thing to do is just call them and talk to them about this!
