Hi All,

I am in the mids of preparing for my DAT. Next week i will be starting to practice for my reading comprehension section. I was thinking of purchasing

Crack DAT Reading
Royal Flush Edition 2010-2011
os_win.gif
os_mac.gif

Simulate 30 Reading Comprehension Passages
500 Questions w/ Detailed Explanations
No software expiration
Unlimited Use
Instant Download

One Time Fee: $99.95 USD

I was wondering if it is an effective practice material? Are there any other better materials to practice from for the Reading Comprehension section. Please advice.

If you were to ask me, I would tell you that any extra money spent on only the reading section of the DAT would be a waste of money. It varies from person to person, I suppose, but take a couple practice sections first before you decide if you need to go out and buy a reading-specific program.

I'm not seeing how practicing to that extent would help - reading is reading, and the passages will always be on information you probably haven't heard before. Pacing is not usually a problem in the reading sections, and just a few practice tests of any kind (Kaplan, whichever) will teach you how to look for the information that you need, in the fastest way possible for you. I would use that $100 and apply to another school or something.

Hey ammarm I actually purchased the 5 test version on Crack DAT Reading. I found it to be helpful for simply practice. The more the better in my opinion. However there are a lot of passages with tone questions, so if you feel like they are a weakness I would get it. But Topscore is supposed to be a better representation of the real DAT. Hope this helps
