Hi! I was wondering if it was "legal" by testing rules to read a humanities sort of book/ passage during the break between PS and VR? My Kaplan teacher had recommended this and I decided I might as well try it on test day tomorrow.

The only part that concerned me is the AAMC Rules saying:
"To protect the security of the exam questions, examinees may not study or use cell phones during breaks."

Also, for the 10 minute breaks is it like the AAMC practice tests where time does not start for the next section until you click next?

You'll have to ask your testing center to be sure, but mine doesn't allow it.

Yeah, I just took the test today and they were definitely super strict about accessing things during the breaks. They watched you closely to make sure you got food and water only. I def did not feel like I could pull a textbook out and saw nobody else do that.

Also the breaks will automatically end after 10 mins, but I think you're referring to the page after the break where there is no time and you have to click next to begin. I'm pretty sure there's probably a time limit on that too and it will automatically start the section or something. Even so, the proctors sign you out and into the room, so they will notice if you are gone for more than 10 mins. That being said, maybe you can extend your break by sitting there while you're on the intro page for the next section. However, does anyone really have the balls to try that? I sure don't. I'm sticking to the rules. Plus, who really needs more than 10 mins. I usu end up cutting the break short a few mins.

good luck.
