Heh guys,
There are great threads out there about how to improve and get faster on the reading section, but I constanly run out of time when I do the kaplan practice test. What am I doing wrong? This is what I do. I read the topic sentence and the last paragraph and go staight to the questions. I have found out that writing scientific words down take me too long, so I try to memorize the topic sentence and scan the passage. However , I have problems when it some to answering the questions. It seems that I have to constantly go back and read the entire passage again. The bottom line is taht I run always out of time Can anyone help ? 🙁
Thank you so much !

I usually just read the whole passage straight through. However i will try and spend only 8-9 minutes doing this. I write down nothing. THen i justscan for answers. I believe this method allows me to know "roughly" where something is and also allows you to answer the off topic questions like what do you think the title of the passage should be or who's side did the author take. I practice pretty much every day by reading at least one article from the NY times science or even better the journal of dental research, of which there are like a million copies in the lab that i work in.

Good luck 🙂

On the DAT you will get 60 mintues rather than 50 minutes. I used to run out of time at Kaplan, however, on the DAT test, I had enough time.
