I am just wondering how well dental schools are preparing students for the business aspect of owning and running a practice? If you could put what school you go to that would be helpful. Thanks!
Even I would luv to hear a answer to this one-but surely ONE knws how to swim whn thrown in deep sea by own efforts LEARNING THROUGH EXPERIENCE IS THE ONLY WAY OUT

I am of the opinion that dentists with zero business skills end up teaching in dental school. Therefore, dental school is the last place to get a good grasp of the business end of the profession.
One might find better perpetration for the management of a practice at the local community college.
We get a "practice management" series of lectures by some people who seriously know what they're talking about. However, these only scrape the surface. That said, someone in my class is planning on building a practice from scrap. I wouldn't feel comfortable running the business yet, but I wish him the best of luck!
