Ok, I want the honest truth. I have been studying G Chem and O Chem for about 2 weeks now, and I've started taking the Kaplan tests from the permanent link thread. My G Chem scores...16/16/17. My O Chem scores...16/17/17. Is this really really bad? My test is on the 30th, and I am really hoping for 20+ in these sections. Surely these tests are harder than the real thing....I hope... 😳 Anyone? I want the truth. No sugar coating.

Your GPA's are really nice! Your GPA's tell me that you should have mastered the material unless you went to a really easy school?

Thanks. The reason my BCP gpa isn't a 4.0 is because of chemistry. That's where I got my B's. It's been a while since G Chem, so I'm kind of re-learning it. And w/ O Chem, I really thought I knew the material well. But some of the questions on the kaplan tests are so confusing. (or maybe it's just b/c I'm lazy and have just now really started reviewing the material - and my DAT is in 10 days. 😳) I just wish it were all reactions. I know my reactions like the back of my hand, but I am struggling w/ the same things I struggled w/ while taking the class. My O Chem professor emphasized reactions 100% and we didn't spend a lot of time on other things. I was just hoping these Kaplan tests were more difficult and picky than the real thing. If not, I guess I'll review some more chemistry....

DMD, don't stress anything, I bet you're a DAT virgin am I right. I took it last year. The science section is much easier than kaplan, as you probably already know. The teacher I had last summer, knows the insider dirt on the DAT, & DMD, would you believe me if I told you people have scored as low as 12 on the exams, & went on to score 18-19 on the real thing. The calculation problems slow me down, so I use my approximating tactics from studying for MCAT's, where applicable, but anyway, don't worry, you'll be fine, just make sure you understand the different problem types.

Lol, DAT virgin...never seen it worded that way. Yeah, it's my first time taking it, and hopefully my last. I'm overly paranoid I know, but thanks for your encouragement. If people who make 12s on the kaplans can pull 18s, then surely there is hope for me. 🙂 Gotta get back to studying.

Kaplan has a wide deviation, but I'd probably say like Topscore, 17+ means you're in good shape. Yeah, your first time might hurt a little, just tell him not to go too hard on you, lol, just kidding, 😉 but yea, there's hope for ya I'm pretty sure.

werent u supposed to take the dat on the 22nd if im not mistaken? lol neways kaplan IS harder than the real thing. your practice scores are not bad. you can expect them to go up on the real thing, by how much exactly? that really depends on the person. I dont quite feel ready myself but im not going to postpone my test date because i know i will never be "ready", theres always something to review or go over. So go ahead and devirginize yourself already. har har

Lol! Yes, I "was" taking it on the 22nd. Postponed it. Didn't think I was ready. I think I have convinced myself that the 30th is THE DAY. I have got to this over with. I am getting sick of stressing out! Good luck to you NJ! I'm sure you will do great! 🙂

If it's any help, my gChem scores were 13/16/18 and Orgo was 16/23/19 on kaplan. I did much better on the real thing 🙂 You'll be FINE!

mackchops are u talkimng about your diagnostic scores? cuz with the way you scored on the DAT seems like you would have scored 20+ on the full length tests

I'm talking diagnostic/mid/final but those were all while taking classes. I studied a ton after classes were over and did subject tests but none of the full-lengths.
