Really low score on my RC practice exam?

I took my first RC exam today from Bootcamp. I scored less than a 15. How much can one improve realistically? My DAT is in less than 7 weeks and I am freaking out.

7 weeks is a loooooooong time to improve. You just need to focus on reading scientific literature everyday and finding a good strategy that works for you. It is only the first practice, take a breather decide on a strategy and learn from the mistakes you made on that exam. 🙂

i was making 17s and 18s on BC for reading. Then my "method" was just writing down questions (key words) first and then mapping out the article. It brought me up to a 21 on BC. I took my DAT yesterday and I was trying to do my method and I just totally ditched it during the exam. Mainly because the real thing was SO much easier and straightforward. And most of the time it was in order, I had 5 minutes left and made a 22 on the real thing. But when i was trying to do my strategy prior to the exam I think it helped me "comprehend my reading" more if that makes sense xD

I don't dare the take a practice test to see how much I will score because I assume I'll get a similar score to yours, so I am just reading a lot every day, like 1 hour and a half or one hour Scientific American and the Economists articles. I subscribed to both websites for their digital issues to get access to their long articles. What i do is read longer articles like 3000 words instead of 1500 words just to get used to long articles. But economists is better in a sense their articles are usually 800 words so they are way easier to read and also have more sophisticated words.
