What should be my g.p.a. after i am done with high school if i want to go to SJSU or SFSU.

Also another question if I take a home school high school can i go to college and if i get a online college degree can i get into a vet school or no??????😕

GPA requirements should be located on the school's website, or by contacting the admissions offices of each school.

Yes, you can go to college if you've been granted a diploma via homeschooling (did it myself). I don't know why you would think that you couldn't. You should have taken the ACT/SAT or have a specific amount of college credits if you haven't taken that test. This might vary by school, but the information should, again, be available via internet. I think you already made a thread about this.

I don't know how schools look at online degrees compared to mortar-and-brick degrees. You would have to call the vet schools and ask them specifically. Most admissions offices are very pleasant and willing to help you out with any questions you might have.

I cannot imagine how you could get the necessary lab experience required to apply for vet school from an online degree. Nor can I imagine why anyone would want to.

College isn't just about grades. It is important for developing socially. I'm not talking about the parties and friends here (although thats a huge part). One on One conversations with other students and professors helps build bridges and collaborations both in undergrad and life, and I don't believe it can be simulated with online discussion groups.

Are you not considering going to UC Davis for undergrad?

You also have to be very careful with online programs. Some are diploma mills without accreditation. I think it would be hard to cover the lab courses in an online course..... and I have actually found that my online courses are more difficult/problematic than my campus courses (communication is more challenging, asking questions of the professor about thier phrasing, or errors on the test is impossible, hard to develop a good relationship with the professor, etc.)

I woudln't do all online because you don't get the same experience. You'll want a little time sitting in a classroom full of people and trying to learn because that's how some of vet school will be. Also, with regular classes, you can ask questions of the professor at any time and he or she should have office hours where you can meet and discuss specific problems. Plus you can meet people in class and form study groups which can be really helpful.

1. I don't think online degrees are looked upon highly. An online class or two - of course, an online degree - probably not a good thing.
2. I suppose I would question the degree of socialization a student would get from homeschooling through high school and then getting an online college degree. In order to be a good clinician, one must have good social skills. Typically in order to get into vet school (ie pass the interview for those schools that interview - this is why I think interviewing is SO important!) you have to have demonstrable social skills. While I am NOT saying it is impossible with home-schooled students and those seeking on-line degrees, it is much more difficult.
