Dear Mr. XXXXXX,

Accept this letter as notice that your application to the UCSF School of Dentistry has been canceled and that you are no longer eligible to be considered for fall 2011 admission. Due to the volume of applications we receive, it has been necessary to establish strict policies and deadlines. Since you did not return a completed UCSF Secondary Application by the required deadline, we must assume you are no longer interested in attending the UCSF School of Dentistry.

I was like, two days, late!

Ah crap that really sucks to hear. Why didn't you send it immediately???

wow...that sucks dude. now i feel like i didnt mail my secondary quick enough (took me 7 days)

google professionalism

Made me laugh a little bit.

Translated: You guessed right, we ain't your undergrad art teacher that will let stuff like this slide.

If you were that interested in the school, you should have gotten it in sooner. Still stinks tho 🙁

They were pretty mean sounding in the directions, dude. Like after every step was "if you don't do this, your application will be canceled".

Should have taken it seriously.

Wait I don't get it are you mad at UCSF because even though they gave clear instructions on the deadline for turning in the application you still turned it in late??? If you applied to UCSF and wanted to have see if they would accept you why would you turn something like a secondary late?

I don't understand why you are upset. You knew there was a deadline. They have so many applicants that are serious enough about dentistry and their future career to put in the time and effort to follow instructions and meet deadlines. If you don't have what it takes to meet a simple deadline, then I'm assuming USCF doesn't believe you can complete their vigorous 4 year graduate program. Either shape up and get your act together or you're going to drown in this application cycle. Spend less time making posts on SDN and finish what's important first.

Did you get that email exactly 22 days after you first received a secondary? You knew when you were mailing it out that you were late already? =\

this is no ones fault but your own. you spend an ungodly amount of time on sdn, you know that applying to dental school is no joke. you've already gotten 2 rejections, that should of been an indicator that you should get your **** done asap and not wait

I am sorry but this is totally your fault... Why are you ranting about their actions when it is 100% your fault that it was 2 days late?

They don't need/want unprofessional applicants who can't even follow the simplest rules...

Hopefully you hear back from other schools... Good luck..

Don't worry Bieber, I took like 14 days 🙂 I just got the confirmation e-mail.

as much as it is a stupid mistake to make, we all are being a lil too hard on the guy. im sure its not easy for him to accept whats happened.

2pac take this as a learning experience, dont let it happen again

On a side note...how long did it take for you to receive your secondary from UCSF after your mailing date? I have a mailing date at the end of July and I haven't heard anything from them.

that's not surprising...no worries though OP, it wasn't meant to be.

I sent it out Aug 15th or so and I got confirmation yesterday.

Wow the haters spread it on thick. O well man, you learned an expensive lesson. Good luck.

definitely troll intentions to this thread. theres no point in this post other than watching people get fired up
