I am reapplying this June, and I am currently preparing fo rmy application. I was wondering if there are any additional sections for reapplicants to fill out? Is there anything that I could prepare ahead of time (ie. any extra paragraphs to explain what i've done with my year off or something?)

thanks for the help!

That's exactly what they ask you in one section if you state you're a re-applicant.

There's a section that ask if you've applied before, the schools you applied to and the year applied. I don't believe you need to write any extra paragraphs however you can choose to explain what you've done since your last application in your personal statement.

make sure to print off this years application. it makes filling out the new a breeze. i know from experience, unfortunately.

For sure, and if you want to get a head start on the secondaries, there will be some..depending on the school you apply to, where it asks you what you've been doing since applying. But for the AADSAS application itself, there is just a box to check that state you're a reapplicant and what schools you applied to. And like someone else said, I hope you printed out/saved your previous application. And it's great you're preparing your application now. I have everything ready to submit June 1st!

I hope you printed out/saved your previous application.

I wonder how much of last year's information will import to the new application. Seems helpful.

What's New for ADEA AADSAS 2012

Reapplying: ADEA AADSAS makes it easier to re-apply to dental school.

ADEA AADSAS has implemented a new process that allows a student who applied to dental school during the previous application cycle to import certain information from that application into their 2012 ADEA AADSAS application. ADEA AADSAS recommends that all re-applicants read the instructions and FAQs pertaining to re-applying to dental schools. An applicants' previous application materials must have been completed and mailed to dental schools in the 2011 cycle to utilize this feature in 2012.

To utilize this process, students will need their log-in information from the previous 2011 ADEA AADSAS cycle. Click on the Reapplicant link on the 2012 ADEA AADSAS application home screen and follow the instructions.

Oh so freaking cool.

I'm hoping they import grades you entered and not just personal info.

entering your grades and classifying things took the longest time.

The completely paperless thing looks to add a Reviewers Portal which seems like it's for reviewers to look at your goods rather than a mass of printed material.

What’s New for the 2012 ADEA AADSAS Application Cycle

The 2012 ADEA AADSAS application cycle opens June 1, 2011. This is the first cycle where ADEA AADSAS will be completely paperless.

Changes for the 2012 ADEA AADSAS application cycle include:
• A new feature that allows re-applicants to upload their information from the previous cycle
• Adding a question about the date of future DAT scores
• Adding a question about length of legal residency in a state or province
• Verifying degree status

The ADEA AADSAS application fee for 2012 is $235 for the first designa- tion and $75 for each additional designation.

The fee is up from $227 and $72 I think. Pennies. Anyone know of any other changes to the application? Probably not the best thread to ask...
