Sorry if this is a silly question. I applied to one medical school last year and my AMCAS was verified, but I did not submit the secondary. I was doing the whole "get your app verified while waiting for the MCAT score in Aug", but my MCAT was not good enough.

So am I a reapplicant? if so, do I need to rewrite my personal statement?

The only way to know for sure is to contact your school. I am only guessing, but would say yes, you are a re-applicant. That does not mean that you need to rewrite your personal statement automatically. However, with having an extra year under your belt, you may have things that you would like to add. On the secondary application, some schools require re-applicants to write an essay about what has changed about their application since their initial application. (e.g. more volunteer hours, more clinical experience, etc)

Thank you Casey and Buzz for your clarifications. 🙂

I was a full-on reapplicant this year, and i used pretty much my same PS. All I did differently was replace some old stuff with newer activities really, but I made very little alterations. And I just got accepted on Friday 🙂 So I guess it was ok
