Hello everyone,

I will be reapplying the 2016 cycle with a 3.55c GPA and 3.3s GPA with a 504 MCAT. Last cycle I got burned by not applying broadly enough and applying late in November. I have learned from my mistakes and I will be applying the first day AACOMAS opens. I would like your opinion on a school list that does not have schools with in state bias that would not be a stretch with my stats.

Also does Rocky Vista have instate bias? That is one school that would benefit me.

I am a Colorado resident.

ACOM

AT STILL ARIZONA

BURRELL

CAMPBELL

PCOM-GA (Will be a reapp here)

LAKE ERIE

LAKE ERIE BRADENTON

LINCOLN MEMORIAL

NOVA (Will be a reapp here)

ROCKY VISTA

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND

WEST VIRGINIA

WESTERN UNIVERSITY POMONA (Will be a reapp here)

Rocky vista does not have an instate preference coming from a Colorado resident who didn't get an interview with similar stats but also was accepted to multiple other schools! Just beware of the lifestyle in Denver as it is insane. As a native I am happy not to get into rocky vista as there is no way I could live in Denver for another 4 years. I would also add KCOM to your list if living in the middle of no where is ok with you. You would probably also be a candidate for Touro NV which is nice if you want to stay close to CO

Can you elaborate on what you mean about Denver? RVU is likely one of the places I'll be applying next year.

I have lived in Colorado my whole life and Denver is just exploding but the whole pace of the city has changed. It is also extremely expensive to live in this area and Parker which is where RVU is located is probably one of the more expensive areas. I think it will depend if you are a huge city person or not. The traffic is also unbearable. I am talking it took me 45 minutes to drive 9 miles this morning unbearable.

You should add COMP-NW onto the list since you are applying to COMP-Pomona. I had an interview with them in October and this cycle their average MCAT stats were around 500-low 500ish. And if your GPA is competitive for COMP-Pomona you should be okay for COMP-NW.

And if you don't mind being in the south you can always apply to KYCOM. They are a great school despite what a lot of people say about it. Yes their stats are low but they have made many changes in order to raise it up.

And if you do end up applying to both schools you should know that the two schools are small (one building) but you get the same family atmosphere you get in schools like WVSOM, ACOM, LMU-DCOM or Campbell for the matter.
