I am a reapplicant for this cycle. I am currently waitlisted at Tufts dental from the last application cycle interview. I was wondering if anyone could give me any inputs regarding to my school list for this cycle. I have done a masters program to improve myself academically to 3.46 science and overall gpa as compared to mine 2.9 in my undergrad a while ago. My prerequiste grades during my undergrad were excellent but the masters program was done to show that I can handle and do well in the upper level science course. I have taken human anatomy with the medical students in my masters program. My DAT AA is 20 and I have no sections below 20 that I remember, some sections are 23. The list of school is below. I would appreciate any inputs. I got lots of rejection last year due to the school only accepting lot of their students in state like University of Florida.

Tufts
Loma Linda
USC
Western
Nova
Boston U
University of Michigan
University of Minnesota
Columbia
NYU
Case
Temple
Penn

What was your Master's cGPA? How did you do so well in pre-reqs yet finish with a 2.9? Trying to see what caused you to get so many rejections.

My masters cGPA is the same as well. I did well in my pre-reqs but messed up a bit badly during my 3rd and 4th years of undergrad with a lot of the upper level classes while I was working at the same time. I reduced my work hours during my masters and did excellent in my opinion. Also, I applied around early August in the last cycle instead of very early this cycle.

Some of the schools on your list are good choices. But schools like Columbia, UMich, Penn and Case are relatively much higher in competitiveness. The GPA for your masters is fine. But I have seen tons of people with 3.9's to make up for the 2.8/2.9 Undergrad GPA. So keep your mind open about these competitive schools ... if you get invites to these schools it's most likely gonna be post December interviews at these schools (not saying you absolutely wouldn't get them pre december). I don't know how your EC's are but assuming they're decent. Other than that I think you have a pretty good chance to hear back from schools like, Tufts, Boston, Loma Linda, NYU and western.

I think temple and USC are also somewhat relatively higher in competitiveness but not as much as the schools listed above.

Good luck nonetheless. Hope you hear good news soon.

How does this make sense?
It could be he's talking about PAT, and some sections being 23 but offset by other sections that might be relatively lower, bringing the AA down.

Yes, but if no sections were under 20, shouldn't his AA be 20+? And I agree, PAT is probably what he meant.

Thanks man, I appreciate the reply. My EC are pretty good. I'm hoping to hear back from Tufts as that is my top choice. This whole application process is stressing me out as it's my second time around. I'm hoping that the school would consider me since the fact that I'm deaf and can contribute to the diversity of the student body.

Thanks woman* aha! Honestly, as cliche as it sounds just wait. No one literally has a clue as to what goes on in this review process. Even if they skipped over you... they call so many people with lower stats than you in February and on... that get accepted. If it isn't January ... you don't have to freak out! dont worry good news will be your way soon and we can all laugh about it together. Haha

About diversity, you definitely will be contributing to that. We all have unique facets that will make school that much more cool to attend haha

hahaha my bad. I didn't realize that you were a woman, smh. I should have checked out your profile to know that. Yeah I know that nobody has any idea whats going on. Just need 1 school to take you, that's all. I do my best to keep in touch with Tufts admissions committee and the professor who interviewed me last cycle since that interview so they know that I am very much interested in attending there.
