I know the last thing people want to think about now is reapplying next year, but given that 60% of applicants don't get in anywhere, it seems like it would be good to have at least an idea in case it happens. When would be a good time to start thinking about reapplying if you haven't heard back/are rejected? March? Before then?

I think people are saying if no II by Christmas this year, think about reapplying. Used to be Thanksgiving, but timeline's been pushed back.

This^^^. The most harsh among the adcoms suggest that we are rejected from the minute we submit, but I don't personally subscribe to that, since it seems kind of defeatist to me. I'm also not as sure about Christmas as opposed to Thanksgiving, but the one month is not going to be earth shattering one way or the other. Everyone is anxious now, and that's perfectly natural, but I think it's a little too early to be thinking about a reapplication just yet.

As it is, if you are no longer in school, you should already be doing things that will help a reapplication. If you have no IIs by Thanksgiving (or Christmas), it then becomes time to start thinking about what you can do to improve for a possible reapplication. Acceptances can come right up until next summer, but you'll have an idea by January or February at the latest about your likely outcome for this cycle (did you have any IIs, how did interviews go, do you ahve any As, etc.?), and certainly by March and April when acceptances for all available seats will be released and responded to.
