I am a reapplicant. Last year, I applied to 8 schools. I got 3 post-Dec interviews, went to two and was waitlisted by two. I retook my DAT and took some post-bacc summer classes. This year, I applied to 17 schools, got 3 pre-Dec interviews, rejected by two and one with no decision (informal waitlist.) I have 3.51 oGPA, 3.41 sGPA, DAT 22 AA and 22TS, many shadowing and volunteering hours. I have no idea why I got rejected because I believe my interviews weren't bad at all.
This is already my second time applying for dental schools. I don't know if I should try one more year. I know that I may get an post-Dec interview, but I need to make a plan for next year. As I am currently working overseas, I wonder if I should go back to the States to work for a year, become a resident and apply to a state school. However, as my parents are living overseas, if I keep my current job, I can save money by living at home and don't have to leave them. I am satisfied with my job, but I don't see myself working it in long-term. Another plan is to attend a post-bacc program with linkage agreements. I am guaranteed admission to a dental school if I meet the GPA requirement, but it is expensive. What should I do?
