Being a reapplicant this yr, one thing is worrying me all the time...last year I esubmitted my app in september but took the november Canadian DAT so my app wasnt complete until end of December. My stats were GPA 3.73 and 19AA/19TS/19RC/17PAT...I applid to NYU and Boston but did not receive an interview at either school...Could the most probable reason for not receiving an interview be the extremely late application or also the stats?

This yr, ive reapplied but this time around i have a higher gpa, masters, and submitted everything in August.

With your credentials, what is there to be worried about ?
How do they apply your grad GPA to your undergrad GPA or they see them separately ?

The application is designed to calculate three separate categories of GPAs. These categories are as follows:

1. Cumulative Undergraduate GPAs
2. Cumulative Graduate GPAs
3. then finally the overall cumulative GPA (which combines the Grad and Undergrad)

This is my assumption based on what I saw under the GPA/Transcript Verification link in the online application. (This link is located on the Right Hand side of the screen after you log-in to your application.)

Can anyone confirm this?

Yes, that is correct. In addition, they will also calculate "+/-" and without "+/-" GPA.

i wonder those what those Dental School GPA averages that ADA puts out every year are based on?

GPAs with or GPAs without the "+/-" ?

To OP: applying early is very important...i think stats are fine unless others know more...
