Hi everyone! This is my 3rd time applying and I appreciate any feedback you can provide on my application and school list
1st application I got 7 II and 5 WL but no acceptance.
2nd application (this year) I got 5 II and currently on 3 WL, but no acceptance yet. In this cycle (not the 1st) I applied late (secondaries in August & September). I want to prepare for next cycle to make sure I'm not late again. I also am adding on DO schools this upcoming cycle, I applied only MD before.

Current Details:
GPA: 3.97
MCAT: 528, from September 2023
Residency: Non CA/TX/NY
Ethnicity: White
Undergrad: Large flagship of a different state
Clinical experience: New this past year, 1500 hours as medical assistant in primary care (only mentioned in the secondaries/update letters this cycle).
Before this, 200 hours volunteering in pediatric hospital playroom, 150 hours as hospital wayfinder.
Research experience: 1500 hours total in 2 labs. One is basic science, the other is related to a clinical study but I don't interact with patients. 4 total poster presentations.
Shadowing experience: 130 hours including cardiology, pathology, family physician. Family is the most hours.
Non-clinical volunteering: 150 hours total at different food banks + 150 hours total in a multi-purpose volunteer organization
Other activities: Leadership role in 2 premed clubs (about 100 hours total), academic tutor for private company (100 hours)
Anything else not listed:
* My personal statement was mostly about research and hospital volunteering and how these activities reinforced my interest in medicine
* In my first gap year I had continued working in both labs, hospital volunteering, and food bank volunteering. The second gap year I switched to the medical assistant job which I'm currently working in.

Tentative school list - Based on schools I got interest from before who will still take a 9/2023 MCAT. I'm looking for more suggestions especially DO schools to add, thank you very much!

The main way I improved my profile was adding on the full time MA job to get more clinical experience. I’m going to change my personal statement to talk about the insights from this job. I also increased the shadowing and volunteer hours. I got interview training from a professional prior to last cycle.

The interviews I got this cycle were Indiana, Cooper Rowan, SKMC, USF Morsani, and Einstein
