Hi all!

Just wondering, if when reapplying:

1) Should you write an entirely new primary essay?

2) Does AACOMAS require you to re-enter all transcript info, or do they keep last years app so you can just enter new coursework?

3) Is it ok to go ahead and apply with last years MCAT, and then send this year's scores? (I may not retake it in Aug:28P, 9BS 9PS 10V, but, then again, I might!)

4) When does the whole shebang start? June? I want to apply as early as possible (vs. what I did last year: as late as possible)

Thanks!

1)DEFINITELY rewrite your essay. There's no such thing as a PS that can't be improved.

2)Sorry; you have to re-enter all your coursework. What a pain, eh?

3)Last year's scores will be fine, as long as you apply early. I got interviews with a 24T (that I upped to a 30P in August)

4)You can actually start filling out AACOMAS in May sometime, but can't submit it until the first of June, usually. You CAN, however, start your secondary essays(most are online at the school's websites) and probe your professors for letters of recommendation. I'd do this ASAP, because we're coming up on the time when many professors go out of town on vacation or sabbatical or even out of the country. It's almost impossible to get them to write you a letter when that's the case. Also, most don't come back until August, so do it NOW.

I agree with what mj1878 said, but I think you'd get a better response in the re-applicant section because so many of those folks have actually had to re-apply.
