Hey Guys,
I am reapplying to medical school for the 2011-2012 year. I did not get in the first time I would think because I turned in the primary so late (last day 10-15-10 at 5:30 PM). I have a 3.66 GPA with a 33 MCAT (12PS 11V 10BS) and what I was told is a good amount of ECs and Research. I am going to retake the MCAT in July, and so my score won't be out till mid August. My question is should I turn in my primary application before I get my MCAT back? Let me know if you need any more info.

Turn in your primary now. Do not retake the MCAT. Why would you want to make the same mistake twice? (applying late) Your MCAT is already 90th percentile.

Yeah I definitely see your point, only one thing to add though. I have reason to believe I could do better on the MCAT because I had mono for 4 weeks leading up to the test (and during it). I feel like this really hurt my studying. So maybe its worth retaking it?
Thanks

What schools are you planning to apply to? If you are thinking state/less competitive private schools, a 33 is more than solid.

Agree with everyone above on no new MCAT. Apply early. Also consider reworking your personal statement/activities list so that it is not only the submission date that makes your new app different from its predecessor. I am also assuming your recs were solid.

Good luck 🙂

Hey guys yeah as far as prerequisites, my science GPA is still somewhere around 3.6, so no problems there. As far as schools, I am thinking instate Ohio schools, with OSU being top choice. But also some OOS, with Northwestern being the most competitive of those. I know that 33 may not be very competitive there, so that's why I am considering retaking.
Thanks for the help!
