5 Good/Great recommendation letters

Even though all my volunteering is in Asia, the deans I talked to loved the international experience.

I think my PS is good. If anyone would be willing to critique it I would be very, very thankful! 😀

What are my chances at a UC? Didn't do so well last cycle. Planning to submit my primary in June (Unlike August of last year :|)

Where else did you apply?

Even as a CA resident with great numbers, you still need to look out of state.

I definitely applied out of state as well. I applied to Rochester, NYU, NYMC, Tufts, Rosalind, Drexel and a few top tier schools. 🙂

Wow that's crazy that you only got one interview, how many schools did you apply to in all? Is it possible you have a bad LOR or a bad PS?

I'm guessing that your interview was with UCLA ?? So there is a possibility that you will get off the waitlist since they admit students all the way up until the first day of class.

If you do need to reapply, I would recommend focusing more time on your personal statement. Have them read by someone else and be genuine in your interests in medicine.

Yup 1 interview. It was pretty late in the cycle too so I thought I would be interview-less with cycle, but thank gosh UCLA gave me a chance.

I'm reworking on my PS and changing some things.

I hope I'm not way down below on the waitlist haha. It would be much too awesome if I got in and will be able to withdraw my AMCAS lol.

it sounds like you have a solid gpa/mcat/ec core. 🙂

1) maybe try reworking a brand new PS or get someone to critically analyze your current one. Ask some friends that maybe graduated with a B.A. degree
2) apply broadly. I was at an med. school info session at my school and they were talking about how important it is for Cali students to apply out of state.

best of luck!

Hey,
I am in a similar situation as you. Got one interview which resulted in a rejection letter. I am a Canadian Citizen though. If you want, I can read over and edit your PS. I applied really late in the cycle ( Oct end ) and to only 9 schools though which was a big mistake.

One question, are you going to change your descriptions for the EC's drastically? I had 10 last year and have 15 this year but am not sure if I should rewrite their descriptions.
Let me know
