I don't know if I should do a 1 year masters program or a post bacc program and either reapply this upcoming cycle or wait until I am done with the masters program.
What I did wrong initially was take the MCAT late... I was not aware that it wouldn't be accepted... I had no adviser to turn to since they suggested I should not apply at all.
I will retake the MCAT but I got a 481
GPA: 2.9
Volunteered every summer since starting college and two different clinics and interacted with patients and physicians.
LOs: I sent in 3 great ones, however I am not sure if I may reuse them or get new ones.
I submitted 15 applications and received 8 secondary applications back.
Please help me!

A 481 is below the 13th percentile of people who took the test. The AAMC recommends that we average multiple scores.
No matter what, don't take the exam again until you are confident of getting a better score than you need for success.
A 2.9 gpa will be an automatic screen even for those with a good MCAT score.

It is possible (depending on many factors you have not touched on here) to rehabilitate your application but it will take years. Your advisors were correct in this regard.

The receipt of secondaries should not be misconstrued as validation. Most schools send them out without review.

Your numbers are lethal for MD and DO.

You need to ace an SMP or a DIY post-bac, and MCAT as well.

Strongly suggest Plan B though.

Secondaries are often a tax on the terminally optimistic, if not pathologically naive.

I had a 3.0 GPA and a 25 MCAT. I finished my post-bacc with a 3.6 but never retook the MCAT. I will be attending medical school in July. Don't give up! Look into a good SMP especially one where you're guaranteed an interview with a connect med program.

With a 2.9 GPA and 481 MCAT, you have some fundamental issues that need fixing. You need to become a good student before you consider applying again.
