I know to rewrite my Personal Statement, and I did do that. However, for organization descriptions, can I virtually keep those the same? Minus of course the ones I continued to be involved in this past year, which I'll update to reflect my new leadership roles in... Or should I rewrite those too?

do you think MJ did the same dunks every year at the SLAM DUNK contest?

Learn to play basketball really well I guess...

If nothing changed, use the same description. This doesn't come from personal experience though

<-- reapplicant, here.

Just because you don't have anything new to add to the experience description doesn't mean you can't rewrite it a bit to really emphasize what you learned from it and how you grew. And to sound a lot less braggy, in my case.

To clarify, out of about the 8 or so extracurricular organizations I've been involved with, I only continued to be involved w/ 2 during my senior year. Those 2, I completely rewrote. The others, I hadn't done anything with this year, so would it be okay to leave them? I reworded 1 or 2 of them a little, but nothing drastic.

Those descriptions didn't get you in last year. Why not rewrite them? Cutting corners when you're a reapplicant is not a great idea. Make everything better, let nothing slide or you'll be a re-re-applicant.

You only kept up two of your activities? I sure hope you started some new ones or your descriptions are the least of your worries.

I did. But I meant it as in...06-07 I was involved in 2/3 organizations... 06-07, I was involved in 1 of the same as the previous year, and 2 different organizations, 07-08, etc.

I doubt adcoms would "take away points," so to speak, if you don't change the wording. You might miss out on a chance to improve your activities section if you don't rewrite a bit, but then again, they might be fine the way they are. Of course, they might not be fine the way they are, since we both failed to get accepted last year lol

Hahah, fair enough. I guess I'll rewrite them, I just didn't know what to change...it's essentially the same organization I was describing. I can totally see the point of rewriting your personal statement, as there's so much more to talk about there, and you can point to different examples/experiences, etc. But with activities, it's essentially still the same activity I did 4 years ago.

Apply to completely different set of schools or change description of your activities. If you are applying to same schools as last year, there is a good chance that an adcom member will compare your last years application with the current application to see what has changed. If they see same description for your activites, the may perceive you as "lazy."

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll definitely rewrite em all tonight and submit tomorrow then.
