How do rolling admissions actually work? Is it safe to say that if you turned in your application b/t October and November and haven't heard back from them that you most likely got rejected? I mean, if I sent in my application EARLY, then obviously they must have looked at my application by now. If they liked me then I should've heard back from them, what other reason could there be for the wait, other than being put on the rejection list and having to wait for the mass emails that will be sent in April and May. Not to sound depressed or cynical, just curious, b/c I still have hope!

P.S. I took my PCAT in October but then took it again in January, could that be the reason for the hold up, b/c the pharm schools want to see my JAN PCAT score?

Which school is it you are waiting on? I had all my stuff in SUPER early (last August) and though I have heard from all but one, there is still that one that I have not heard from. I emailed them and they said yes I was still in the running and would be getting an interveiw invite in February. They only just started interviews in January. I know two other schools still have interview days scheduled at least through February. So it probably just depends on the school... Some get started earlier and some get started later...

Did you contact all of the schools and tell them you took the Jan PCAT?

I'm in the EXACT same boat as PharmEM. I did not tell the schools that I took the Jan PCAT b/c I was afraid it would delay me further. If the score is good, then maybe it will help. If not, I'll take it again in June.
....tired of waiting..........giving up.

Yea I hear ya! I feel like my chances are basically shot for all of the rolling admissions schools. Even though I applied back in early October, I didn't realize that it doesn't matter how early you apply if you don't have PCAT scores available until December!😡 I really wish I took the PCAT for the 1st time in June. I did contact a few places I applied to and told them I was planning on taking the January PCAT, but most won't know until they receive the new scores from PharmCAS. I'm so sick of waiting too.... if they're gonna reject me I'd appreciate them doing it as soon as possible. I'm sick of feeling all this false hope!

I applied to schools in Texas (UT, UH, TT). I've contacted TT and UT to let them know I've taken the Jan PCAT and the TT person told me that even though I took the Jan PCAT, I'm still being considered as early admissions. A friend of mine last year sent in his TT application mid-October last year and he didn't get a n invite for an interview till mid-February so I'm still not worried. I know the waiting game sucks, but good things come to those who wait, hahahaha.

... Wow, I really don't think u have anything to worry about.. i don't even think U.T. has started inviting.. then again, maybe I'm wrong and I'm just not part of the equation.... also UH just started interviewing.. Relax.

Hey PharmEm. No I don't think it's necessarily safe to say that if you applied Oct-Nov and still haven't heard back, that you've been rejected. I'm still waiting to hear from University of Minnesota. I did submit my application well before the deadline, but they don't even start reviewing general pool applicants until after February 1st (as indicated in an e-mail from them). So yeah... try not to totally fret. There is still hope. Another example: I know someone who submitted an application in early October (to Loma Linda) and wasn't contacted for an interview til May. It would probably be a good idea to check out exactly when the schools you're interested in hold interviews. If you do get an invite, you usually get one usually 2-3 weeks before the actual date. So really, don't give up on hope right now if your schools hold interviews in perhaps late February or on later dates.
