Hi everyone. Congrats to those that have already been accepted! For those who are in my position (applied late, etc) has there been any interview movement in the past week? I've browsed through the interview/acceptance/rejection thread and not much has been going on.

In particular has anyone recently heard from: NYU, Tufts, Penn, Temple, Columbia, UMDNJ? Interviews (or rejections 😱)?

This probably won't help much but I applied early and still haven't heard from Tufts, BU, or USC. My stats are decent and I haven't been rejected so maybe they haven't finished going through all the applicants yet.

I think December is relatively dead in terms of interview invites as most schools are dealing more with waitlists and offers/rejections right now. I think you'll be lucky to hear anything in December; more likely in Jan or Feb, unfortunately. Hang in there!

I received an interview from Penn on the 6th, however, it was mailed out on the 1st. Their first interview date was Feb 2nd, lol.

i have a bunch of research but have not been published. I should mention I got an 18 on the reading section, i think that may be troubling to some schools.

The deposit date for most schools is Jan 1, or around then. Most students take their sweet time deciding where to deposit. I think after Jan 1 they get back together and figure out who to invite next time. hang tight!

I'm in the same boat. I applied 11/16 and heard from Columbia Dec 1st, but nobody else yet... I assume the next round of data will come out in January, so no point in worrying at the moment

Applied late, got an interview invite from western u last friday and an interview offer from the uw today. Still waiting to here from several schools though.

I had an NYU interview last Friday and got an email that afternoon from Tufts inviting me to an interview. Gave me 6 days in January to pick from.

I got an invite early last week for Buffalo.. for the earliest day available on 02/09

I got a Tufts interview last Friday. Scheduled it today. Earliest available was Jan 17th.

Don't know if this helps, but I applied in June and had 4 Pre-December interviews and got accepted Dec 1. I just heard from Tufts for an interview. I turned it down though. Hang in there guys. It may take a while.

I have an interview for NYU january 20th. I received the interview around December 15th? I also just released my Midwestern Illinois interview.

I had an interview at Tufts yesterday, they said that as of yesterday 63 people had put in a deposit at the school and today is one of the deadlines to put in a deposit and next friday is another deposit deadline so I'm sure the numbers will go up a little. They also said the admissions board meets every two weeks to make decisions and the next time they're going to meet is next friday and that any more activity might happen by the following Wednesday (they told us that our status on AADSAS would change by then so we'd know if we got in or not so I'm sure they will do more interview invites around then too or a little later). Don't freak out if you haven't gotten an interview from them yet, they told us its still early and they started doing interviews later than other schools and there's still basically a month until their deadline. They showed us a chart that said 10% of their total applicants get an interview and it was somewhere around 450 people, and over 300 get accepted (70-80%) and they're anticipating their class size to be 185 and seeing as only 63 had put in a deposit by yesterday, there's still a lot of open spaces. I hope this kind of helped, let me know if there are any other questions and I'll try my best to answer

Also, for NYU, today's one of their deadlines for a deposit so I'm sure a lot more interview invites will be sent out, I got accepted there and at BU and I decided to put in a deposit for BU so there will definitely a spot open at NYU after today!

Is it required that university has to send rejection letters to all applicants...they have not done interview/accepted. Can they leave applicants in limbo without any rejection/acception letters?

Technically, yes depending on how long you define limbo. I remember when I applied last year, I didn't get a rejection letter from a certain school until August. By then, I was already in dental school and laughed when I heard about it from home.

I don't think so. I've applied to school for the third time this year. Filled out their secondary and app fee as soon as I submit their AADSAS. I've never heard back from them ever. It's my state school.

That would be terrible waiting forever from our favorite university and you don't hear until August or don't hear from them at all...

Hey, I just got a Tufts and LECOM interview this week. I was surprised but I am thrilled. I thought my interviews ended in December. As a note, my application was completed September 15th and I received three pre-december interviews and now two post december interviews. Check pre-dents for more information.
