Hey...

I was recently accepted into pharmacy school and will begin classes in the Fall of 2012. Although I have shadowed frequently, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to get my Pharmacy Tech certification before entering pharmacy school, or would that just be a waste? Thanks in advance for your help.

It would be a waste. Once you get into school, you get an intern license...which completely nullifies your technician certification.

Actually, one school I've gotten into wants me to be tech-certified before matriculation... I would check with the school to make sure they don't require it.

I think if you wanted to get a tech license and get experience before starting, then that experience would be very useful. But, as stated above, once you are officially enrolled and obtain the intern license, the tech license is no longer of value (and is voided).
