I am reapplying this year and was hoping to use my old calculus professors recommendation again. I was looking up his email address online and realized that he is no longer a professor at the university anymore. Question is does the LOR have the be from a still employed professor?

As far as I know LOR technically can be from anyone, ie one of mine is from my dentist, but certain schools require LOR from science, dentists. I think you should be fine if you get a hold of him at his personal email and have him mention his credentials as well as the years he taught at your university.

I really think that you should try to get a letter from Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Physics (BCP) professors. I'm not sure if a Calculus letter is gong to count as a true science letter.
Which is ironic because math is the most pure science.
