About recommendation letters, does a letter from a teacher at a JC carries the same weight as a professor from a university? Also, which dental schools are considered "hard to get in" and which ones are considered "safety" schools? Thanks.

All things being equal, get it from a university, but if you know the JC rec is going to be better, go with the JC.

The hardness and ease factor really depends on your stats, but Nova I know here in Florida is a safety school by most standards, as well as NYU, which somewhat surprises me. Those and Jersey (UMDNJ) are my safety schools.

Also, I think a JC proffesor reccomendation is just as valuable as a university one, granted he knows you better. It comes down to which one can give you a better one.
