Recommendation Letters

Hello,
I am not sure whether I am posting this in the right forum, but I was wondering whether schools accept letters sent by colleges and DO's. My school doesnt participate with the Interfolio program and they will send letters to each individual school. Based on the cost to set it up and send letters, I thought i will ask the DO whom I shadowed to just mail individual letters. Is this ok?

Even if your school doesn't participate in Interfolio, still set up an account for that one D.O. letter. Have the DO send the letter to Interfolio and then you can send it to as many schools as you want easily.

It's a pain in the ass to have to ask your DO to send individual letters to different schools unless you only plan on applying to 1-2 schools. You also want to make it as easy and hands-off for the D.O.

Yesh... Interfolio will be less of a pain for your letter writers.

My school used to have their own letters forwarding service but for 3x the price and a lot slower. I took the much easier and cheaper route of using Interfolio, and it makes it tons easier for your recommender too.
