Recommendations post-secondaries?

So I asked for a letter of recommendation from the doctor I shadow, but due to multiple family emergencies the letter was never written. The doc still wants to write me a letter. I've already submitted the majority of my secondaries, is it too late to have this doc write/submit the letter of rec?

not too late..schools say they accept them about 2 months after submitting secondaries or something like that.

so It could go through AMCAS and then AMCAS would send it out to all the schools?
