Okay, So I've used the all-mighty search bar as well as the four similar threads that popped up when typing the thread title (That's such a great feature, might I add. I know many other forums that could use that feature.) And while most of them are indeed related ( Pre-Dent, Vet, Anesthesiology. They are not exactly what I am interested in.

I am looking for some leisurely reading that is related to the following fields but is not so far in dept that I'm essentially going through A&P331-3 again;

Emergency Medicine
Cardio
ENT
General Surgery - I've been suggested atul gawande, Better and Complications.

If you guys know of any, please throw them in. Enjoying a few months of down time and need something to browse!

Thank you for looking!

i actually checked out Complications from my local library a few days ago.

enjoying :-3

I just finished reading "Intern: A Doctor's Initiation" by Sandeep Jauhar.

There is a great thread on this in allopathic

Michael Collins' books are fantastic as well.

Intern is very, very good.

But nothing beats Gawande. Start with his three books (Complications, Better, Checklist) then make your way through all his New Yorker pieces.

I recently finished Cutting Remarks by Sidney Schwab and found it very enjoyable.

Try Real Life of a Surgeon, and I'm currently enjoying The Real Grey's Anatomy: The Real Life of Surgical Residents.

In Stitches is also a lot of fun. Much more lighthearted than the aforementioned books but very enjoyable nonetheless.

Also the author is an SDN contributor which makes things even cooler.
