recording

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
There are threads where it doesn't need to go beyond the first response.

This is one of those threads.

HTH.

you always could podcast your recordings for SDN's amusement. Hell I say go for it, whats the worse that can happen?

well they could probably go to jail. but hey it's not us, right? and hey, that one dude in that other thread said he'd rather have gone to jail than to higher education, so maybe he was on to something.

no need to go to such great lenghts

i just use my standard answer to 99% of the questions i get to limit liability: 'ask your doctor' 🙂

It is illegal...

Are you sure? If this would fall under laws that deal with recording conversations then some states require the consent of all parties involved, but some only require the consent of one party... assuming you are one of the parties. So while you couldn't just sneak up and record a conversation you aren't a part of, if you're in a state that only needs the 'ok' of one party then you'd just need your own permission.

Is there something else in HIPAA or pharmacy regulations covering this?

amen brother... CYA= cover yo own ass... my ass is covered so hit that little red circle button and record away👍

I wish stores would find a way to do that. There's too much he said/she said when customers complain to corporate or management (complaining in order to get a gift card or something else for free). A couple of my friends have had the problem of customers accusing them of using racial slurs when they really didn't. Unless there are witnesses there really is no way to prove yourself innocent. They already videotape everyone picking up their rx's and behind the counter. Also, apparently the nurse practitioner phone line is tapped due to liability reasons.

Everybody seems to think this is a great idea, but the same recording could screw you just as easily as it could help you.
