I'm doing a master's in the UK, and was wondering if med schools will care about my final outcome. For context, my master's only does "pass" or "merit." Thankfully, I did very well in undergrad, but probably won't get merit on this master's, so I'm not sure if this would look like a downward trend. On the flip side, would they even care if I get a merit since it's from the UK (and my final grade wouldn't come out till like October, well after my secondaries are in)?
AMCAS will not process grades from overseas schools.
We will not know the distinction between merit and pass.

For MD, no.

For DO, maybe.

I don't know, but they certainly should.

My chemistry graduate school work was much difficult than the bachelors degree.

MD schools care about such superficial things, MCAT and GPA. They love their rankings.

An MD school will look at an A in astronomy and an A- in advanced quantum chemistry, and literally choose the A as more impressive because ranking.

I was in the exact situation as you. I also did a master in the UK, and when I was applying, I emailed every school's admission office directly to ask if they would like to see my current transcript. Some said yes and asked me to upload it as an additional document on the secondary portal, some straight up did not care to see it. A few schools asked me to give them a WES evaluated transcript, where the UK grades were converted to GPA on a 4.0 scale. For these schools, i sent them the converted WES evaluation and my UK transcript.
I wouldn't say my master's grades really impacted my application holisitically; the non-academic experiences I gained over there were definitely more important (In my opinion).
