Hi,
I've been considering applying to a D.O. program, UNE in particular, but I'm not really up to speed on what I need to do.
I understand that D.O. programs look favorably on applicants who have a reference from a D.O., I was wondering if there was a specific amount of time (75 hours, or something like that), that you have to spend with a D.O.
Any info you guys could throw my way would be great!
Thanks, Tyson

I don't really know the specific number of hours that DO schools want BUT I do know that they take it into consideration. They don't take letters from DOs too seriously if you just met and talked to him for 2 hours for example. I was told this from the ADCOM at WesternU. I was asked how many hours I volunteered at my DO office during my interview.

I went thru the same interviews as Miglo, but I wasn't asked about how many hours I volunteered with my DO. However, Miglo's right when he says that you need to volunteer with / shadow your DO enough so that he/she can write a convincing letter.
