regarding NYU "decision mail" pre interview

So I called NYU today to inquire about the status of my application since I had not yet received an interview but also no updates. Sadly enough, I got told that a decision was mailed out a on Thursday/Friday so I think i should be getting it soon. I did not ask what the decision was since I didnt know if they would tell over the phone. However now i was thinking, Does this mean an outright rejection🙁? Since those interviewed get an email..right?

hi, i hate to tell u..but it is most likely a rejection letter.

u only get an e-mail if:

1) ur invited for interview
2) have not had an interview yet, but are being considered, so they have u answer a question and update ur extracurrics and grades.

Hi! actually I was interviewed last Oct and got accepted on Dec 3rd. From all the poeple that I have heard of, none of the ones that were admitted received an e-mail. In my case, I only received a letter.

I think that you should wait.....b/c hope is the last thing that should be lost

are you referring to interview invites? or acceptance mails?
