Before I had thoughts of med school I enrolled at a for-profit college that is nationally accredited, but not regionally. I have a 3.7 GPA there. I plan to take all of my prerequisites at a different regionally accredited institution but I would like to avoid getting a 2nd bachelors degree at one (doing so would tack on an extra 2 years, although I could CLEP some classes).

So, is there any med school that will accept a student with an undergraduate degree from a non-regionally accredited instiution as long as the main prereqs are done at a school that does have the regional accreditation?

I was planning on taking every science and math class at a regionally accredited school as well as the full year of English to meet the requirements. Is this good enough or will I need to get a second bachelors degree? (I will in Biology if needed since most of the classes I'd need overlap with that major anyways, but like I said it would probably take me an extra 2 years almost to complete it).

Thanks.

I am pretty sure those courses don't count at all, but talk to the med school deans.
